This reminds me of an old Space Race tale.
The Americans spend $$$$ inventing a pen that would write in zero gravity. The Russians used pencils.
Honestly, how is this thing an improvement on a mule? A mule requires no gasoline, is quieter (if you muzzle it), warm enough to aid survival (and you can always eat it if push comes to shove), cheaper... Didn't the US army used to have a stud farm for mule breeding?
